Veridus announces Jason Barraza as partner in firm

Phoenix, Ariz. – Veridus LLC is pleased to announce veteran lobbyist and Democratic political strategist Jason Barraza has been named a partner in the firm. A member of Veridus since 2009, Jason joins a bipartisan ownership group that includes Wendy Briggs, Jeff Sandquist, Jay Kaprosy and Matthew Benson.

In addition to his government relations work on behalf of corporate and non-profit clients, Jason is an experienced campaign operative. Prior to joining Veridus, he aided the coordinated campaign of the Arizona Democratic Party during the 2002, 2006 and 2008 election cycles, and provided on-site logistics and security assistance at every Democratic National Convention between 2000 and 2016.

Jason is extremely active in our community. He recently completed a stint on the Maricopa County Trial Court Appointments Commission after being appointed by Gov. Ducey in 2017. Additionally, Jason serves on the City of Phoenix’s North Mountain Village Planning Committee; is a member and past Chairman of the Board of Leading for Change, a non-partisan, political leadership training organization; and is a past President of Los Abogados, the Arizona Hispanic Bar Association. In 2016, Jason was recognized as one of the nation's top Hispanic attorneys under 40 by the Hispanic National Bar Association.
A native Arizonan, Jason graduated with a bachelor’s from the University of Southern California (2001), and earned a law degree from the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona (2006). He lives in Phoenix with his wife, Leila, and two children.
